FIRST TEAM
Dove Holes 139-9 v Woodley 165-9
Rain Affected Draw (13 points)
Dove hosted 2020 champions Woodley, once again lost the toss and were asked to field.
We soon found ourselves taking a 40 minute snow / sleet / hail / rain break which even for Dove was unseasonable. The delay meant DCCL rain rules were applied and the visitors would have to dismiss Dove to claim victory.
Woodley dug in against a good bowling attack which gave little away. Helped by a few errors in the field the visitors were able to reach a respectable 165-9 in their 45 overs.
In reply Dove lost regular wickets which meant little momentum could be made in the run chase and despite an excellent 31 from Ben Bagshaw Dove were left to see out the last 3 overs with just one wicket remaining to protect the draw.
SECOND TEAM
Hollingworth 166ao v Dove Holes 170-8
Dove win by 2 wickets (19 points)
Dove travelled to Hollingworth and like the first team lost the toss and were asked to field. Cory Flint was once again in form (4-31) as the hosts were dismissed for 166.
In reply Mark Turner (72) was in the runs again and led the way as Dove stumbled reaching the target. However, sensible batting from the lower order saw Dove home with just 2 wickets remaining and 7 balls spare.
This weeks results Dove Holes CC go into the cup weekend unbeaten as a club.
