FIRST TEAM | DIVISION ONE
Dove Holes 106ao v Tintwistle 151ao
Dove lose by 45 runs (6 points)
Dove hosted Tintwistle who won the toss and batted first on a glorious day at DHCC.
Despite losing regular wickets the hosts were held up by young Charlie Harris (46) who held the innings together. However, with the score on 124-9 Dove shouldn’t have allowed the visitors to reach 151 all out. Dave Cartledge pick of the bowlers 4-35.
Although a total you would have expected to chase the last thing needed was early wickets and Dove lost 2 in the first over. Dove never really recovered from this losing wickets regularly with no batsmen seeming able to stick around to build the run chase. Alex Brown 5-41 did the damage as Dove were all out for just 106 with the best part of 18 overs unused. 6 points for Dove.
SECOND TEAM | DIVISION THREE
Tintwistle 119-7 v Dove Holes 202-8
Dove win by 83 runs (18 points)
Dove travelled to Tintwistle and batted first. Opener Mick Johnson set up the innings with 39, run machine Mark Turner hit 63 and Joe Gregory scored 39 as Dove posted 202-8.
In reply, the hosts were pegged back by Kev Waterhouse who bowled 12 overs 2 for 11. Further tight bowling from Dove meant Tintwistle could only reach 119 but they batted out the 40 overs with failing to pick up the final 3 wickets. 18 points for Dove who remain unbeaten.
