Dinting win by 4 wickets
The First Team travelled to Dinting on the opening day of the 2022 season. Skipper Gregory won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Dove innings never really got going and despite 25 from Dan Gilbride and 41 from James Gemmell Dove struggled to 133 all out in just 34 overs.
In reply, Dan Waterhouse was pick of the bowlers with 3 for 28 but the hosts reached the target finishing on 139-6 inside 27 overs.
Division Two
Dove Holes 74ao v Pott Shrigley 77-3
Pott Shrigley win by 7 wickets
The Second Team faced Pott Shrigley First Team at home and also won the toss and elected to bat.
Dove were dismissed for just 74, Paul Scowen top scored with 23. In reply the visitors reached the target for the loss of 3 wickets.
National Village Cup
Elvaston 147ao v Dove Holes 190-7
Dove win by 43 runs
On Sunday Dove travelled to Elvaston in the first round of the National village cup. On a hot and sunny day Dove batted first and hit 190-7 from the 40 overs. Opener Dan Jones scored 56, Joe Hall 29 and Joe Gregory 21, which included a 2 off the tree!
In reply, Dove picked up regular wickets restricting the hosts to 147 all out. Dan Waterhouse 3 for 26 and James Gemmell 3 for 37 pick of the bowlers with keeper Dan Jones Bagging 4 victims.
Dove now host Holmesfield, who play in DCCL Division Two, in round two of the National village cup on Sunday 8th May.
