New Mills 142ao v Dove Holes 228-4
Dove win by 86 runs (20 points)
Dove travelled to New Mills and were asked to bat first after a week of mixed weather.
This looked to be a good call when Dove lost opener Gilbride early, however Dan Jones (35) and Jack Gregory steadied the ship taking the score past 100. Skipper Gregory went on to hit a superb 113 not out and Joe Hall finished the innings in style smashing 44 not out as Dove hit 228-4 securing full batting points.
In reply, despite 3 early wickets the hosts dug in and threatened to bat the overs. Pick of the bowling was Dan Waterhouse who bowled 12 overs 3-33. Skipper Gregory rounded off a great performance picking up the final wicket as New Mills were dismissed for 142 in 43 overs. The full 20 points for Dove.
SECOND TEAM | THIRD DIVISION
Dove Holes 65ao v Chapel 42ao
Dove win by 23 runs (15points)
Dove hosted neighbours Chapel in a top of the table clash and were asked to bat first by the visitors.
This looked to be the correct call as Dove slumped to 65 all out with just Rob Hawkes and number 11 Matt Baldwin reaching double figures.
Chapel were however blown away by the pace of Dan Walker (5 for 24) and guile of Kev Waterhouse (5 for 16) reaching just 42.
Dove secured a 23 run victory and picked up 15 points.
