Bissenden Cup Dove Holes 157 Hazel Grove 151 Dove travelled to Hazel Grove on a warm, muggy day hoping to turn out a similar performance to Saturday. However, perhaps one too many celebratory poretti’s were consumed as Dove produced a lacklustre display! Dove Won the toss and batted first, much to the dismay of the Hazel Grove captain, and only Tom Forder produced a notable innings hitting 58. His dismissal leaving a ball which hit his middle stump summed up the batting performance as Dove could only post 157. Hazel Grove bowled tight lines and fielded well on an increasingly hot afternoon. In reply Hazel Grove got off to a good start but Dove were determined to get the win and picked up regular wickets. Hazel Grove were aided by some below par fielding as Dove dropped 4 catches! Critch 3-26 was pick of the bowlers and Dan Waterhouse on debut bowled well picking up a wicket. The Duke and MT kept it tight and as the scores got close Dove held their nerve and finally a few catches. Jack Gregory sealed the win as he broke a determined last wicket stand bowling Rodgers leaving Hazel Grove just 6 short. Dove will have to produce a better performance if they are to progress further in the cup however a wins a win and it’s been a great week for the club winning a T20 on Thursday, League game on Saturday and in the cup on Sunday. Have Dove Won Yet? Yes they have!!
