Readers Division One

Dove Holes 63/0 v Braodbottom 61ao

Dove Holes win by 10 wickets

Dove hosted the 2021 Division One Champions Broadbottom in their first home game of the season. Skipper Gregory lost the toss and Dove were in the field.


The Dove opening bowlers were superb and ripped through the Broady line up. Sean Critchlow bowled ten overs 2 for 36 and Dan Gilbride had incredible figures picking up 8 wickets for 20 runs in 11.2 overs. Broadbottom were all out for 61.


In reply, openers Dan Gilbride 27 not out and Dan Jones 23 not out made no mistake as Dove sealed an emphatic ten wicket win.


Division Two

Hollingworth 114/9 v Dove Holes 110 ao

Hollingworth win by 1 wicket


The Second Team made the trip to face Hollingworth First Team and were asked to bat by the hosts.


Dove struggled to get going but did bat the overs finishing on 110 all out.


In a tense reply the hosts looked on track to reach the target but Dove picked up regular wickets. The hosts eventually reached the target with just one wicket spare.

National Village Cup

Dove Holes 264/5 v Holmesfield 86/8

Dove Holes win by 178 runs


Dove hosted Holmesfield in the second round of the national village cup. Skipper Gregory won the toss and Dove batted first.


The visitors reduced Dove to 10-2 but James Gemmell steadied the ship with smashing 68 from 44 balls. A brilliant 141 run partnership between Ben Bagshaw 61 not out and Joe Gregory 74 not out propelled Dove to a huge 264/5 in 40 overs.


In reply, Holmesfield were bowled out for 86, Dave Cartledge 3 for 10 pick of the bowlers.


Dove will play Langley Mill United in the Semi Finals of the Derbyshire section of the National Village Cup.
